Cut my eyes at the eventide Now the sunset’s scarred by a crooked line Drown your mercy bite your rage Nah there ain’t much sin from the gallows to the grave Ah the Lord almighty wasn’t here today It’s all gone wrong but it’s all the same They’re burning bodies in the streets ’neath a heathen's prayer You’ll know my name by the cage I wear That tocsin ringing in my ear again And there’s crows screaming like a death knell refrain When you can’t run walk when you can’t walk crawl And when you can’t do that I’ll pull you through it all I’ve lost all feeling and my god complex it shows Entrust our faith in the sky in a burning black hole I fear there’s something to say somewhere to go wrong Is it all in our hands were we already gone Oh did you hear about the poor man’s crimes and the mad man’s raves About the killer and the priest and the harlot and the slave Well the stars are gone out and land’s run dry Black bile on the water oh my oh my Carrion burial trust in me It’s all gone wrong but it’s all the same I’ve lost all feeling and my god complex it shows Entrust our faith in the sky in a burning black hole I fear there’s something to say somewhere to go wrong Is it all in our hands were we already gone It’s never the end and it’s never enough They're calling my name I've wandered too long bearing this cross I can't take the pain Ah good God heaven does it ever get better this deathless severance tethered in chain It's all gone wrong can you feel that weather it's anomalous ominous coming like a plague All my life all I want bite down on lead and start again Riddle me who would want to live forever I ain't ready to die but it's all the same I’ve lost all feeling and my god complex it shows Entrust our faith in the sky in a burning black hole I fear there’s something to say somewhere to go wrong Is it all in our hands were we already gone

Mercy calling for the mad man screaming Mercy coming from the dead god dreaming You can bite your tongue you can hide and run But you never come back from the Dustlands Black rain coming down oh my Everybody’s saying that we all gon’ die Black rain everybody get hurt Rattle at your chains but it ain't gon' work Now the roots burn deep set the ground on fire And the night sky’s enough to drive a killer insane There’s a face in the sand shouting nowhere man And the wind is alive and it knows your name Can you smell the lamb’s meat cooking on the spit Burning on the bonfire pouring red wine (swallow it down) Pillars of basalt crack the ground and the walls Of the inside cliffside (pour another round) You can never feel pain I say All the memories fade one day You take a sharp left turn at the end of the world You might find yourself in the Dustlands Singing mercy calling for the mad man screaming Mercy coming from the dead god dreaming You can spit your lungs at the mindless sun But you never come back from the Dustlands (My god) it’s a long way down now (My god) it’s a goddamn shame (My god) isn’t taking any calls now (My god) don’t have no name It’s hard in the Dustlands Ain’t no one gonna save you in the Dustlands Every step you take playing dice with fate And you're never gonna win ‘cause they own that game It’s hard like an obelisk Like the bat-winged thing in the necropolis Someone scratched your name in a black stone grave In a plot at the center of the Dustlands Screaming mercy calling for the mad man screaming Mercy coming from the dead god dreaming You can bring your gun you can beat your drum But you never come back from the Dustlands (Praise) the one who, in the darkness (Preys) on the deaf and the blind and lame (Praise) the man with his eyes burned out who (Prays) to the god who broke his cane Spent eight years in the backrooms Crawling up the walls ‘cause I had to I danced and sang in a land called Leng Crying at the sound of the pan flute I stepped between reflections Carcosa's brutal with its twin suns I saw my sign at the edge of time But I won’t set foot in the Dustlands There’s no mercy calling for the mad man screaming Mercy coming from the dead god dreaming You can bite your tongue you can hide and run But you never come back from the Dustlands Call the priest grab the holy water Strap down grab the crucifix She’s cleaning off her knives for the slaughter Call a black mass just in case I took a bite of a Smith and Wesson Spent time in hell for a lesson The devil let me go said I had no soul Said I lost it back in the Dustlands There ain't no mercy calling for the mad man screaming No mercy coming from the dead god dreaming But you never come back, no you never come back No you never come back, no you never come back from the (There's no motherfucking) mercy for the mad man screaming Mercy coming from the dead god dreaming You’ve been out too long and it feels like home And you’ll never come back from the Dustlands

The Expats dragged their path along / The arid road to Babylon Mornings dawned and twilights passed / Through hills and vales and cataracts They rode their lowly caravan / Across the barren borderlands But nothing living's living on / That crooked road to Babylon Mother lead them safe to shelter / Father keep them in the cold Brother give your hand to help them / Lend your light and lead us home Beneath the tow'r of silence in / The shadow of the seraphim Men and beasts discussed and trained / The careful art of slow decay In time I noticed chips and cracks / Like webs across the hourglass Recall this was a dream of mine / Refraction, symbols undefined Heed the man who tries to change you / Fear the things he tried to know Moving according to their own nature / Culling places as they go Take my body, take my look / Take me as I never could It’s only fair our iron should rust / All you want is sand and dust Many tried, and none got far / But I know what you really are Masquerades and alibis / Spreading truths that fracture minds Father, father everlasting / Shattered in a billion parts They will try to repossess that / Dangerous weight in both our hearts Everything’s a simulation / Manufactured to protect Everyone is out to get you / Lay down, amen Nothing living lives forever / Follow me into the void Bending at the faults of pleasure / Cut me when you’re paranoid Halfway there, again forever / Falling in cascade effect I can see this unendurable stasis / What're we ready to forget
